What is the inspection authorization renewal (IA) Course?
The Inspection Authorization Renewal Course . Presently, Baker’s School of Aeronautics offers two 8 hour courses that are approved by the FAA for IA renewal. Course one is offered every Monday and covers Title 14 of the CFRs (FARs). Course two is offered every Tuesday and covers TYPE CERTIFICATE DATA SHEETS and AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES.

When can I Complete my IA refresher training?
You can complete your refresher training using the online course at your own pace any time during the 12-month period for IA refresher training, which ends on March 31 each year. There is an extensive variety of study units to choose from.
Are the courses on this list acceptable for IA renewal?
Only courses on this list will be considered acceptable as a basis for IA Renewal in accordance with FAA Order 8900.1 Volume 3, Chapter 56. This list also contains courses that have expired within the past 24 months.

In order to receive credit for your IA renewal, you must attend at least 2 of the 3 sessions for a total of 8 hours of training. Each session will be worth 4 hours of training. NOTE: While this seminar is structured for Mechanics with Inspection Authorization (IA’s), it is open to any interested mechanic .
(a) To be eligible for renewal of an inspection authorization for a 2-year period an applicant must present evidence during the month of March of each odd-numbered year, at an FAA Flight Standards District Office or an International Field Office, that the applicant still meets the requirements of §65.91 (c) (1) through (4).
To renew your IA under FAR 65.93 (4) requires an IA to receive 8 hours of training each year between April 1st and the following March 31st. In order to take and pass this quiz you will have to review ALL 8 Blocks of Learning, which run about an hour each to complete.
