Aspen University provides an opportunity for all students pursuing a degree to accomplish it in less time than the traditional college. Their program is a hybrid, flexible program perfect for students with busy lives or families. I love Aspen – when I transferred into this school, the process was very easy from them, and they were very helpful!
Aspen’s nursing program has faced scrutiny from regulators and officials already stopped enrollment and student progression amid concerns from the state that the program was underperforming.
On January 28, 2022, the Arizona State Board of Nursing considered the investigation of Aspen University’s nursing program at its public, regular January Board meeting. Aspen University representatives were present at the meeting with their counsel and addressed the Board, as did Board staff.
The only drawback, and it’s major, is the fact that Aspen’s DETC accreditation is not as widely recognized as it deserves to be. Someday Aspen and DETC might be universally accepted, but, for the time being, a degree from there will not be honored by the major RA schools. So transfer or continuing education at an RA school would be impossible.
Aspen is truly dedicated to offering low tuition to all students. The leadership cares about the advisors and the staff. The culture is top notch. Aspen University has scammed me out of federal financial aid. I completed the semester weeks ago and still haven’t gotten my federal pell grants. They had a lie every week. They are scamming the feds out of money and not giving it to the students.

Aspen University provides nurses with an excellent education to accomplish this goal. Therefore, Aspen is a great path if you want to enhance your practice and become a better nurse. However, if you’re looking for an easy way to put a title behind your name, you may consider a different school.
