GigSky today announced that it will now support Apple SIM for the iPad in over 140 countries — up from the 90 countries it has supported until now. The new additions to the company’s destinations include The Virgin Islands, Argentina, Jamaica St. Vincent, Ecuador, and Isle of Man.
With the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3, Apple started bundling an Apple SIM card with the devices. The SIM card allows travellers to quickly purchase data from supported carriers and MVNOs, including EE, T-Mobile. Users can subscribe to the data pack straight from the iPad without having to worry about finding an appropriate store first. With the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, Apple switched over to an embedded Apple SIM that makes switching to a local SIM, if needed, a breeze.
Apple SIM is compatible with the following devices:
- iPad Air 2
- iPad mini 3
- iPad mini 4
- 12.9-inch iPad Pro
- 9.7-inch iPad Pro
GigSky is one of the largest partners for Apple SIM now as it offers prepaid data pack options in over 140 countries across the world. The company notes that all the data packs are prepaid and with no hidden charges.
